HII-TSD, Integrated Mission Solutions Group (Camber Corporation) is currently seeking a Systems Engineer to work at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Dayton, OH.

This position will provide Level II Systems Engineer support to the Simulator Common Architecture Requirements and Standards (SCARS) initiative that has been introduced by the Simulators Program Office in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC).

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):

  • Performs engineering, architecture design, integration, and performance optimization analyses and functions.

  • Assesses performance, identifies opportunities to improve performance, and translates opportunities into specific performance requirements.

  • Addresses simulator architectures providing major subsystems and information types (e.g., Force Cueing, Control Loading, Image Generation, avionics, aircraft subsystems).

  • Identifies and recommends a migration path for simulator functionality from its current decentralized state to a future centralized state that accommodates all common functionality.

  • Employs federated engineering approaches to integrate SCARS hardware and software solutions, including cloud computing.

  • Provides test and evaluation (T&E) expertise and insight to SCARS acquisition professionals, developers, and functional experts to help ensure operational requirements and concepts are clearly defined and testable.

  • Supports the SCARS lead in executing SCARS Engineering Capabilities Board (SECB) activities.

  • Collaborates with the Government and simulator vendors as they address enterprise-wide standardization and cybersecurity issues. Analyze, characterize, and document current training systems addressing design approach, networks and interfaces, proprietary applications, and all other information that will support adaptation to a standard architecture.

Qualifications and Experience:

Required-

  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering experience at the enterprise level in system design and architecture development with modern computer platforms (e.g., Windows, LINUX, UNIX), and cloud computing, data center operations, and analytics.

  • Possess a training systems/flight simulation/Distributed Mission Operations background.

  • Working knowledge of requirements analysis, configuration management, and engineering documentation, interface control/management processes.

  • DAWIA Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering (SPRDE) Level 2 or equivalent experience required.

Preferred-

  • A computer science, computer engineering, or other engineering bachelor's degree plus 5 years of functional experience

  • OR an associate's degree plus 7 years of recent applicable experience

  • OR 11 total years of recent applicable experience.

Security:

  • All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
