HII-TSD, Integrated Mission Solutions Group (Camber Corporation) is currently seeking a Technical Writer - Communications/Marketing and Graphics Support SME to work out of their Washington, DC office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Overview

We have an opportunity for a dynamic and collaborative Technical Writer – Communications, Marketing and Graphics Support SME to join our team. This SME will be a member of our team supporting the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts (the AO) Information Technology Security Office (ITSO). As a team member, the SME will provide ongoing communications/marketing planning and execution; technical writing, editing, and graphics design support for ITSO. This support includes: developing and maintaining security content for the JNET (the Judiciary’s intranet); assisting in the scripting and design of the ITSO's information technology-related videos and webinars; and design, layout, and preparation of any materials that can be used to market the ITSO's services at any of the Judiciary's information technology-related conferences, teleconferences, seminars, briefings, or other events.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the development and execution of communications/marketing and plans and supporting materials.

  • Provide communications/marketing consultations.

  • Research and develop sketches/mock-ups for graphics and marketing material. Select photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to effectively communicate concepts contained in work products.

  • Draft and edit marketing copy for intranet, letters, articles, speeches, presentations, video scripts and social media engagement.

  • Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the work product and any related requirements.

  • Assist in the creation, review, and graphic design of written work products, including, but not limited to, tips of the month, technical articles and IT security brochures.

  • Review and edit materials prepared by others (e.g., subject matter experts).

  • Manage the cyclical review and update of ITSO’s JNET content and all linked resources.

  • Demonstrate excellence in preparing visual presentations by designing art and copy layouts.

  • Demonstrate experience with software packages such as: MS Office Suite, Visio, Photoshop and /or Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat.

  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively describe technically complex material to a non-technical audience.

  • Work effectively and efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Create new and original designs from scratch for brands based on client specification.

  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness.

  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communications skills; organizational and analytical skills; the ability to express thoughts clearly; and the ability to collaborate in a team environment.

Qualifications and Experience:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a focus in graphic design.

  • At least 4 years of experience in cybersecurity management, operational, and/or technical activities.Thorough understanding of the use of NIST Special Publication 800 series guidance.

  • Working knowledge of and ability to apply standard theories, practices, principles and techniques related to information security.

  • Demonstrated high level proficiency in PowerPoint.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat, and Excel.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge of web communication techniques, vehicles and formats. Ability to effectively use web technology to achieve communication goals.

  • Ability to apply appropriate statistical techniques and methods to research.

  • Strong story development and technical writing skills, as well as advanced editorial and proof reading skills.

  • Ability quickly produce clear and concise documents for internal and external publication.

  • Demonstrated ability to speak professionally to large groups of people to relay pertinent information and answer audience questions.

  • Demonstrated customer service skills, including a high level of diplomacy and professionalism.

  • Ability to use tact and diplomacy to effectively handle a broad range of high level and sensitive interpersonal situations with diverse personalities, and to respond appropriately to conflicts and problems.

  • Ability to interpret, communicate and apply information security policies and procedures.

  • Analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources, including diagrams, Internet research, technical information from existing documentation, as well as consultations with engineers and subject matter experts into technical documents.

  • Effectively describe technically complex material to a non-technical audience.

  • Handle multiple assignments simultaneously.

  • Work effectively and efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Certifications (possess one of the following industry-recognized cybersecurity certifications):

  • CompTIA Security+

  • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC)

  • GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CSA+)
