HII-MIS is currently seeking a Joint Portal Shield Technician Level 1 to work at multiple locations throughout the Republic of Korea.
A Technician Level 1 is responsible for maintenance and operations of the Joint Portal Shield (JPS) Biological Detection System (BDS). Technician Level 1 serves as part of the technical support staff and may work days or nights. Takes direction and instruction from senior technicians, receiving on the job training to enhance skills and position for promotional opportunities. Performs preventive and unscheduled maintenance, repair, operations, and supply support for the JPS and ancillary equipment.
Position Locations include: Dongducheon, Uijeongbu, Seoul, Pyeongtaek, Waegwan, Daegu, Busan, and Jinhae.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Performing preventive maintenance, following a Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) schedule.
Conduct daily evaluation of system performance to identify and resolve deficiencies.
Troubleshoot, repair, and replace system Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and ancillary equipment.
Replenish system consumables.
Performs biological surveillance using the JPS network of sensors, operated from on-site, centralized command post computer (CPC).
Enter data into asset management system to track:
Asset Operational Availability (Aₒ)
When required, support local, regional, and theater-wide exercises.
Cooperate with Government representatives conducting site visits and inspections.
Three (3) years' experience supporting complex systems and equipment, one (1) of which is in direction relation to the sustainment of Biological Detection Systems or Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) equipment.
Ability to adhere to schedules to meet mission requirements.
Maintain inventories and enter pertinent information into a Logistics Information System (LIS) such as Maximo.
Possess and maintain a US driver' license and US Passport.
Must possess and maintain a SECRET Level security clearance.
- All of the above but with five (5) years' experience supporting complex systems and equipment, three (3) of which is in direct relation to Biological Detection Systems, and one (1) of which is directly related to the JPS.
- All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.
Local and regional travel may be required
