HII-MIS is currently seeking anIntermediate Drafter-CAD Operator 3to work out of theirVirginia Beachoffice.
Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):
Designs components or portions of systems and modifies existing designs to develop or improve products and facilitate manufacturing operations. Utilizes computer-aided design equipment and/or graphic tools such as, CAD, CAM, Siemens NX or CATIA Gathers information, makes studies, computes calculations, and prepares original rough layouts, sketches to present design proposal. Coordinates design criteria with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, material, and planning group such as ease of manufacture, availability of materials, and contractual specifications.
Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the job. An office work environment is normally encountered. Qualifications and Experience: Required:
Minimum of six (6) years of full-time professional experience working as a Drafter.
Detailed working knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Internet Explorer and Microsoft SharePoint.
Ability to generate detailed design deliverables from sketches, drawings, or verbal instruction.
Ability to apply ASME Y14 standards including the application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances to complete technical design packages.
HS diploma plus 6 years relevant (DoD/USN) experience.
Travel up to 10% of the time. Preferred:
Knowledge of U.S. Navy surface ship combat systems and embedded training systems such as AN/USQ-T48 AN/USQ-T47 Trainer (TSSS).
Recent 2D & 3D modeling experience. Security:

U.S. citizen with current DoD Secret Clearance is required.
