HII-MIS is currently seeking a Joint Portal Shield Technician Level 3 to support deployed systems in Qatar.

A Technician Level 3 is a subject matter expert (SME), responsible for sustainment supporting the Joint Portal Shield (JPS) Biological Detection System (BDS). Technician Level 3 is a Site Lead responsible for overall performance of the JPS network at their assigned location. Provides on the job training to new personnel and mentors subordinate technicians. Oversees system operations and performs preventive and unscheduled maintenance, repair, operations, and supply support for the JPS and ancillary equipment. This position requires strong knowledge and skills in sustaining the JPS systems.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):

  • Ensuring the JPS at the respective site is operating efficienntly and meeting >90% Operational Availability (Ao).

  • Ensuring preventive maintenance is performed following a Preventive Maintenance Checks and Services (PMCS) schedule.

  • Conduct daily evaluation of system performance to identify and resolve deficiencies.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace system Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and ancillary equipment.

  • Replenish system consumables.

  • Operate and manage operator personnel in performing biological surveillance using the JPS network of sensors from on-site, centralized command post computer (CPC).

  • Install software updates to CPC and JPS sensors and reimage machines when necessary.

  • Manage inventories of BDS equipment, tools, consumables, and spare and repair parts.

  • Enter data into asset management system to track:

  • Asset Operational Availability (Aₒ)

  • Consumables usage

  • Inventories

  • Work Orders

  • Serve as a liaison and biological detection subject matter expert (SME) for local Commands and installation POCs.

  • When required, support local, regional, and theater-wide exercises.

  • Host Government representatives conducting site visits and inspections. Requirements:

  • Ten (10) years' experience supporting complex systems and equipment, five (5) of which is in direct relation to the sustainment of the JPS.

  • Ability to schedule and manage personnel to meet mission requirements.

  • Maintain inventories and enter pertinent information into a Logistics Information System (LIS) such as Maximo.

  • Possess and maintain a US driver' license and US Passport.

  • Must possess and maintain a SECRET Level security clearance. Preferred:

  • Fifteen (15) years' experience supporting complex systems and equipment, ten (10) of which is in direct relation to JPS.

  • Ability to schedule and manage personnel to meet mission requirements.

  • Maintain inventories and enter pertinent information into a Logistics Information System (LIS) such as Maximo.

  • Possess and maintain a US driver' license and US Passport.

  • Must possess and maintain a SECRET Level security clearance. Security:

  • All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements.

  • Local and regional travel required.
