HII-TSD, Integrated Mission Solutions Group (Camber Corporation) is currently seeking a UNIX/Windows System Administrator to support the U-2 Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (ISR) Mission Planning Cell (MPC) program to work out of Beale Air Force Base, California with periodic travel to other continental United States (CONUS) or overseas (OCONUS) locations as directed by the 99thReconnaissance Squadron Commander (99 RS/CC).

The U2 ISR MPC UNIX/Windows System Administrator shall provide analytical, advisory, technical expertise and analysis to U-2 MPC and 99 RS activities. The UNIX/Windows System Administrator is primarily responsible to ensure 24/7/365 continuity of classified and unclassified MPC UNIX/Windows systems. The system administratorwill collaborate with a diverse team supporting MPC critical programs with information system capabilities in a mixed Windows-based/UNIX-based environment. The system administrator is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining secure, cost-efficient, environments across various classified and unclassified programs within MPC facilities. The primary responsibilities of the contractor will include, but are not limited to, (1) technical project implementation and (2) sustaining operating capability of MPC information technology systems in both Windows and UNIX environments. The System Administrator will also provide daily system administration/maintenance support on Windows, UNIX, and UNIX-based environments.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):

  • Ensure 24/7/365 continuity of classified and unclassified MPC UNIX/Windows systems.

  • Ensure all electronic technical data, regulations, and instructions are current on all electronic systems and physical storage locations.

  • Provide analytical, advisory, and technical support to 99 RS/CC and MPCC.

  • Analyze and evaluate MPC mission planning software, software tools, and associated support systems to recommend changes and upgrades to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.

  • Identify, communicate, and resolve/recommend solutions to known and/or technical deficiencies.

  • Research, identify, and/or innovate technologies, processes, and/or procedures for implementation in MPC operations.

  • Attend meetings as directed by the 99 RS/CC and MPCC.

  • Represent the IT Lead at working groups as a recognized subject matter expert (‘SME’) on MPC technologies and capabilities.

  • Maintain NIPR, SIPR, and JWICS accounts.

  • Provide input to the IT Lead regarding accomplishments/challenges in performing required tasks/subtasks.

  • Assist in the maintenance and integration of new technologies introduced to the MPC.

  • Security Management: Comply with and enforce National, Department of Defense (DoD), and Air Force security policies and directives, including: (1) both verbal and written reporting procedures; (2) deterrence, detection, isolation, containment, and recovery from information system and network security intrusions.

  • Subtasks – UNIX/Windows System Administrator SpecificBuild and maintain UNIX-based production systems.

  • Build and maintain Windows-based production systems.

  • Maintain, configure, and install UNIX-based/Windows-based workstations and peripherals.

  • Complete escalated tech support and task tickets.

  • Ensure UNIX-based/Windows-based systems and application compliance with security and/or performance requirements.

  • Convert and upgrade new UNIX-based/Windows-based systems.Maintain technical documentation on all computing environments.

  • Provide system administration of SharePoint, Intelink, and other mission essential software.

  • Monitor regulatory compliance for all MPC hardware and software.

  • Perform basic configuration management and initial system diagnostics on desktop computers, laptops, operating systems, and productivity software.

  • Provide analytical, technical, functional and management support by coordinating and troubleshooting logistical issues and plans sustaining MPC continued mission support activities.

  • Configuration Management: Support installation and management of hardware/software at the operating system level.

  • Security Management: Follow national, Department of Defense (DoD), and Air Force security policies and directives both verbal and written reports for non- compliance issues.

  • Assist in furthering U-2 Research & Development Laboratory initiatives

  • Subtasks –AFMSS Specific – For the duration of any period to which the Air Force Mission Support System (AFMSS) is employed by the MPC, then the following duties will apply:

  • Provide Air Force Mission Support System (AFMSS) Administration Support: Provide system administration support to include build up/tear down of AFMSS hardware, installation and maintenance of mission planning and associated software and databases, including: Digital Aeronautical Flight Information File (DAFIF); Chart Information Chart Update (CICU); and 24/7/365 maintenance of these systems.

  • Provide technical expertise to resolve mission planning software/hardware problems for all U-2 operating locations, both CONUS and OCONUS.

  • Load, backup and restore mission planning databases monthly.

  • Transfer navigation plans and databases via appropriate media.

  • Prepare AFMSS and laptop mission planning systems for deployment.Maintain knowledge in supply procedures to cover resupply of consumables and replacements of AFMSS and PC parts.

  • Maintain a technical order distribution plan to keep all operating locations current in required AFMSS support products.

  • Contractor Mission Planners shall attend Air Force Mission Support System (AMFSS) System Administrator training at Beale AFB, CA within 180 days of employment.

  • Upgrade AFMSS systems: Install system upgrades at each overseas location when necessary, but not more than once annually.

Qualifications and Experience:

General Required Qualifications-

  • U.S. citizenship required

  • Maintain a current passport throughout the Period of Performance

  • Obtain all entry/exit visas for countries as required for work performance.

  • Pass a standard physical examination that includes, at a minimum: medical history, height, weight, blood pressure, HIV antibody, and chest x-ray.

  • Be physically capable of performing tasks outlined in Duties and Responsibilities Section above.

  • Have all required immunizations prior to OCONUS travel.

  • Comply with all security requirements as outlined the contract Statement of Work (SOW).

  • Be willing and able to work in a demanding, high-stress environment.

Specific Required Qualifications:

  • Significant experience as a UNIX/Windows System Administrator.

  • Access to DoD Information Systems will be required to perform contract duties. At the time of contract award, the contractor must possess a valid, current certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M. The certification must be one of the following: Security+ CE (or higher), SSCP, or GSEC. Must be maintained throughout the contract Period of Performance for this TO.

  • Fundamental knowledge of computing infrastructures.

  • Strong hardware/software troubleshooting skills.Fundamental knowledge of Windows operating systems.

  • Fundamental knowledge of Active Directory.

  • Fundamental knowledge of LINUX operating system.

Desired Qualifications-

  • B.S in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or related, or equivalent job work experience.

  • CISSP certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M.

  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate- Server (2008 or higher)

  • Microsoft Certified IT Professional – Server Administrator (MCITP SA) (2008 or higher).

  • Scripting/Programming/Coding experience.

  • Basic understanding of fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts.

  • Experience with Java/.Net programming.

  • In-depth understanding of Microsoft Active Directory, Group Policy, Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), Domain Name System (DNS), Exchange, Lync, and Symantec NetBackup and Backup Exec.

  • High Performance Computing (HPC) experience.

  • Experience in Project Leadership, Management, or Project management in an IT domain.

  • Experience with license managers in a Windows or UNIX environment.

  • Ability to train others in standard IT processes and procedures.

  • US Citizenship required
