Camber Corporation has an immediate opening for a Mission Advocate located in the Washington, D.C. Metro Area. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

The Mission Advocate will perform the following summary of expected duties and responsibilities:

  • Serves as an information sharing subject matter expert for a large-scale enterprise portal supporting critical missions across the homeland security mission space.

  • Serve as a technical authority on middle-tier/client-side SharePoint 2010 functionality to support the program’s enterprise portal.

  • Serve as a liaison between the program and multiple stakeholders from all sectors of government (federal, State, local, tribal, and Territorial) as well as international and private sector.

  • Provide support for a highly customized SharePoint 2010 environment involving client-side administrative activities such as site creation and solution development utilizing out-of-the-box and customized functions such as lists, libraries, workflows, and other platform offerings.

  • Develops and delivers end user training on an ad hoc basis.

  • Facilitates resolution of technical, policy, procedural and other stakeholder issues directly or by engaging appropriate internal and/or external resources.

  • Cultivate ongoing supportive stakeholder relationships to maintain and continue to develop the client communities within the HSIN environment:

  • Serve as the stakeholder input to the requirements process, coordinate with support teams on sites created and requirements of client communities;

  • Provide guidance to stakeholders on structure and functionality of their sites; best practices, suggestions, etc.;

  • Assist site owners and stakeholders with the analysis of current business requirements and map to HSIN governing structure;

  • Demonstrate SharePoint functionalities to stakeholders and provide trainings;

  • Encourage user adoption and generate a sense of excitement in the stakeholder regarding HSIN;

  • Identify opportunities where HSIN can be leveraged and independently conducting outreach;

  • Communicate regularly with user base on tips, tricks and best practices;

  • Assists stakeholders with the development of their own outreach, communications, and training strategies as it relates to the platform.

  • Support planning, preparation, mitigation, response and recovery operations during exercises, incidents and events, either as a virtual or forward-deployed asset.

  • Conduct research and prepare documents such as: process guides, white papers, point papers, fact sheets, quick reference cards, impact statements, analysis, and briefs.

  • Deliver prepared and extemporaneous executive briefings, decision briefings, and informational presentations to a varied audience that includes senior leadership and decision makers.

  • Support participation at various conferences, meetings, site visits, trade shows, and exercises across the Homeland Security Enterprise and other public relations venues that may be held locally and throughout the United States.

  • Provide informal weekly status reports to the day-to-day point of contact for technical performance to support the weekly reporting to the client.


Bachelor’s degree and at least 7 years of professional experience.

  • Must have law enforcement (government or civilian) operational experience along with strong SharePoint 2010 Administration experience.

  • Excellent ability to communicate with customers, support personnel, application development personnel, and project leadership and management.

  • Strong business process analysis skills in with a track record of mission-integrated solution design and architecture.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills for design, coordination, and testing of solutions.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines along with associated risks while maintaining effective reporting standards. Strong team player able to execute tasks with minimal direction in collaboration with remote and local teammates.

  • Must have working knowledge and understanding of DHS Portal-based information sharing technologies and principles.

  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint 2010, particularly in middle-tier/client-side solutions.

  • Familiarity with the multiple missions of the Homeland Security Enterprise across all jurisdictions (federal, State, local, tribal, Territorial, international, and private sector).

  • Ability and experience in one or more of the following: customer relationship management, business process consulting, software marketing, awareness communications, outreach, training, requirements gathering, information sharing governance, website design and maintenance.

  • Demonstrated information technology proficiency - Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, virtual meeting media (Adobe Connect), and portal-based technologies are essential. Applicable experience with Microsoft SharePoint is required.

  • Must be a United States Citizen.

  • Must have an active Secret clearance as required by DHS.
