Description

Requirements:High school diploma plus a civilian or military aviation maintenance technical school and a minimum 3 years experience within unit level aircraft maintenance operations in the electronics field and extensive experience in closely related aircraft or other electronics endeavor. Position requires component level troubleshooting skills, detail oriented maintenance practices, and good communication skills. Must be able to read and follow military style technical orders, read electronic/electrical schematics, and have a moderate level of knowledge of computer networking functionality. The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential. Must have a working knowledge of U.S. military aircraft maintenance forms &amp; record keeping procedures. Familiarity with currently fielded US military avionics and operational experience at deployed sites is highly desired. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

This position is located at various CONUS and OCONUS sites. Must be willing to travel.
Job Duties: TheUAS Avionics Technician I performs inspection and periodic maintenance on the aircraft, ground control station, ground data terminal, takeoff and landing systems, and associated ground support equipment. Works under the supervision of senior technicians to diagnose, troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in Unmanned Aircraft Systems electrical, avionics, radio frequency, optical payload, and weapon systems components including solid state andtransistorized subsystems according to pertinent technical manuals, directives and safety procedures. Remove and install unmanned aircraft system subassemblies. Performs aircraft fueling operations. Serve as crew member performing launch and recovery operations. Perform maintenance and authorized modifications on unmanned aircraft systems components. Repairs, replaces and performs operational and preventive checks and alignments on aircraft flight controls, stabilization systems, avionics and controlled cryptographic equipment. Use test sets and diagnostic equipment. Maintain comprehensive records on all system equipment and associated maintenance. Schedules maintenance on test, measurement and diagnostic equipment. Alters or modifies material according to DA approved modification work orders. Differences training will be provided as needed for qualified individuals prior to assignment and/or deployment.

Position may require periodicOCONUS deployments in support of worldwideUASoperations.

The ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential. Previous operational deployment with US military unmanned aircraft is highly desired. FAA Airframe &amp; Power plant License, FAA Class II Physical, is desireable. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Job Duties: Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on unmanned aerial vehicles. Inspect at regular intervals: airframe, propeller and engine. Diagnose, troubleshoots and repairs malfunctions in Unmanned Aircraft Systems propulsion, fuel, payload, and weapon systems components according to pertinent technical manuals, directives and safety procedures. Remove and replace airframe components as needed including aileron servos, flap servos, brake servos, landing gear servos and throttle and waste gate servos. Perform all launch and recovery of aircraft including necessary inspections, starting engine, operational check, installing payloads (cameras, KU, Datalink, SAR, EO/IR), and fueling and de-fueling. Incorporate any TCTOs and other modifications into all aircraft as needed. Interface with customers, military and civilians. Maintain records on all system equipment.
