Senior Software Specialist
The selected applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Current Secret security clearance.
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (e.g., Business, Mathematics, etc.), + ten (10) years of general experience and six (6) years of relevant experience.
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline + twelve (12) years of general experience and eight (8) years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of master’s degree.
Possess a Cyber-security Workforce or Windows Server 2008R2/2012R certification.
Minimum of four years’ experience with Government information systems.
Experience to include:
Installing, configuring, and troubleshooting virtual data center environments.
Administering web-based application servers (i.e., Java Application Servers (Tomcat 7/8), Internet Information Services (IIS) 7+, Jetty 8+, ActiveMQ, and Karaf (OSGi).
MS SQL 2012, Postgre SQL, and MySQL.
Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Level III certification in Information Technology or Engineering or the civilian equivalent
Active secret clearance
Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure in a Virtual Data Center environment.
Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies.
Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks.
Participate in the design of information and operational support systems.
Provide 2nd and 3rd level technical support.
Liaise with vendors and other Information Technology (IT) personnel for problem resolution.
Travel up to ten percent (10%) in order to perform assigned tasks.
